Dr. Kamaldeep graduated from the prestigious S.D.M College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Hassan, where he also completed his postgraduate studies in Manovignjana evam Manasaroga. He is currently serving as a Specialist Project Medical Officer at the District Ayurveda Hospital in Kottayam, specifically within the Manasikaarogya unit.
Dr. Kamaldeep conducted a thesis on “A Clinical Study on the Combined Effectiveness of Shankhapushpi (Convolvulus pluricaulis Chois) & Japapushpi (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Linn) Choorna on Chittodwega (Generalized Anxiety Disorder).” His interests include developing effective psychiatric Ayurvedic treatment protocols, enhancing counseling skills, psychotherapies, and meditation methods. He has also conducted various pilot studies to test and validate these protocols, gaining in-depth insights into their efficacy.
Educational background:
– M.D. (Ayu) in Manasaroga from S.D.M College of Ayurveda, Hassan, with RGUHS, graduating in 2018 with a score of 70% and in 2020 with a score of 67%.
– B.A.M.S., from the same institution, graduating in 2017 with a score of 62.6%.
Dr. Kamaldeep has experience in teaching theory and practical classes for undergraduate students and has conducted counseling sessions, relaxation techniques, yoga, and meditation sessions for patients over the past three years. He has actively participated in medical camps during both undergraduate and postgraduate studies and has conducted pilot studies on Manasikavikaras out of curiosity. His skills include good verbal and written communication and handling medical equipment proficiently.
He achieved First Class in his first year of M.D. Manasaroga in 2018 and secured 6th rank in the RGUHS university exam in October 2020.
Work Experience:
Dr. Kamaldeep began his career as a Project Medical Officer at the Manasika Arogya OP District Ayurveda Hospital, Kottayam, in December 2020. He has been involved in conducting classes, awareness programs, and counseling sessions in schools and colleges to promote mental health. During the second wave of COVID-19, he was in charge of the psychiatric wing of the hospital, focusing on mental health during the pandemic. He also oversees several programs, including Manaswi (de-addiction), Chirakukal (child mental health), and Mithram (counseling and awareness classes for students) within the Government Manasika Arogya unit in Kottayam, as well as the Kiranam project of the ISM Department in Kottayam district, which focuses on promoting mental health among school children.

Dr. Kamaldeep has attended over four seminars, conferences, and workshops, and more than six webinars on various topics. He has submitted research papers to reputed international journals (currently under peer review) and conducted numerous classes and awareness programs related to mental health and its impact during the COVID-19 pandemic.
