Dr. Viswalekshmi S. earned her Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery from Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Ayurveda College, Chennai, affiliated with Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswamahavidhyalaya, in 2009. She began her PhD program at J.J.T University, Rajasthan, in December 2022. She completed her Master’s Degree in Shalakya Tantra at S.D.M. College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Hassan, which is recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, in May 2014.
Dr. Viswalekshmi has extensive work experience, having served as an Associate Professor at Mannam Ayurveda Co-operative Medical College, Pandalam, Kerala, for 9 years and 7 months. She also worked as a junior doctor at Chittattinkara Vaidyasala, Kesavadasapuram, Kerala. Her involvement in community service includes participating in a general camp in Kollam in 2010 and an eye camp in Byndoor, Karnataka, in 2014.
Dr. Viswalekshmi has presented papers and posters at various conferences. Notable presentations include: – A national-level presentation on the “Effect of Amalakyadi Rasakriya Lepa in Krimigranthi” at Dr. DY Patil College of Ayurveda during UPDATE SHALAKYA TANTRA in 2014.
– An international presentation on “The Role of Padaabhyanga in Maintaining Healthy Eyes” at the Global Ayurveda Fest 2014 in Cochin.
– A paper titled “Visionary Wellness: Preventing Eye Diseases Through Yoga and Traditional Ayurvedic Practices” at the International Conference on “An Integrated Approach of Spiritual Science & Modern Science Through Yoga & Naturopathy” held on July 26th & 27th, 2024, organized by the Institute of Yoga & Naturopathy at Shri Jagdishprasad Jhabarmal Tibrewala University, Vidyanagari, Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan.
She is currently working on ongoing publications and articles, including a study on the “Effect of Amalakyadi Rasakriya Lepa in the Management of Krimigranthi.”
She has received several awards, including: – The Keraleeya Vanitharatna Karmasreshta Award on International Women’s Day in 2017.
– The Ayurvaidya Award from Modern Arts Theaters in 2016.
